This week's been good, got to catch up with a couple of friends despite getting back to real work - though I think it'll never be enough. What sucks the most is not getting an allowance from my parents anymore ): ): Or rather, not wanting to feel guilty asking for cash now that I'm working. Definitely more thrifty now (not taking cabs unless absolutely necessary, like when it's so late that public transport services have stopped), but unfortunately still spending a bomb on a lot of stuff that I deem necessary (many would question the necessity, you see).
Drove out for supper with Chenxuan and Loretta a few nights ago. We wanted to get Tk to join us but his parents informed us from the second-floor balcony that he was away in Melbourne on a holiday haha. Anyway Lor & I tried out the dessert at Ice^3 which was sooo good, I loved the butterscotch mudpie so much I wanna try out every single possible ice cream mudpie there is at the cafe but it's gonna burn a super duper deep hole in my pocket so I have no idea what to do now ): But it really is quite awesome.
Also had dinner with Carrie, Daphne & Lihuang a couple of nights ago in town. Had a quick meal, quick catch up, no thanks to our very busy and conflicting schedules ): But it's nice to know that everyone has been doing fine and well, even though we each have our own work grouses - who doesn't?
Last evening, I managed to meet Kat for a bit before she went off for RJ Swimming's celebratory dinner and I for my other dinner plans. Went over to the Forum early to wait for the team's arrival so we searched high and low (literally!) for seats but I think the only available seats would have to be... in the toilets. Left with simply no other choice given the time of the day (I feel compelled to emphasise this before people start judging us again haha), we headed for Toys R Us to indulge in retarded activities. The highlight was without doubt the Egg Race which was also captured on video by Kat's superb phone (happens to be the same as mine :D) though I lost the race because my egg was majorly annoying - it could only travel in circles with a 6-inch radius. Stupid white egg.
(Speaking of white eggs, I recently came across a music producer & songwriter whose given name is Francis Anthony White, but goes by the name Eg White. This, I can't comprehend.)
Popped over to California Pizza Kitchen to say hi to the team, everyone was so cheerful and jovial that it totally made me miss school ): ): If only I could be in their shoes, or turn back time ): Can't believe how much things have changed within a space of 5 months, all our woes about school life seem so trivial now and honestly, I'm ready to give up just about anything to be back in RJ. Wellll, guess you never miss the water until it's gone.
Also got to talk to Andrew about uni for a bit so I'm glad I went down to visit the swimmers. Thanks Kat! :D Met R and we walked over to Somerset for a supposed "damn awesome" ramen meal (okay, it was not bad) with K. Then after already consuming beer over dinner, the guys wanted to go for more drinks so we went over to Old School Timbre, which is horrible to go to unless you're driving there cause the walk up is just insaneee. Even our conversation came to a stand-still for 5 min while we attempted to catch our breaths after overcoming the seemingly endless flight of stairs. The company was (surprisingly) good, the music was good, the drinks were, well, drinks. It was a good night, anyway.
Oh and today, I had lunch at the Hog's Breath. Do you have any idea how awesome it is?? Just thinking about going back there makes me happy hahaha. But then again, I'm not too sure if I can afford it, so maybe... Yujun? (: Still way cheaper than Lawry's at any rate :D
