So much has happened in the past month but... it's all good. Have been having about a million and one lunches & dinners & suppers with the people who mean most to me so I guess I can safely say that I'm contented. What really irks me now is going for work every day at the ungodly hour of six-thirty in the morning - it's even worse than going to school. I know, the NS guys get up earlier and all, but I'm not in NS and should totally deserve to have sleep-ins and all the other privileges that non-schooling people enjoy :( Anyway, less than 2 months to go till real freedom (hopefully)!!
This week has been especially good despite having the most hectic schedule ever. Last Saturday, we had another J3 swimmers' dinner at Sizzler. The frozen yogurt was the best ever :D :D Played 'I have never' and Julian was the funniest ever cause he intentionally (or unintentionally) killed Chenxuan with 'I have never held a real gun'. We managed to sit in the restaurant for 4 hours till they were closing and were the last table of customers! Then we headed home slowly - really really slowly. Stood around in the Marymount station talking to Tzekang & Cx about life in general for about an hour so I got home pretty late sighhh.
Then on Sunday, I met Suzanne at NUS and we headed over to the pool to watch the final Open League matches :) :) Haven't exactly watched any games in a really long while so it was definitely good to have that experience all over again. Also got to catch up with some long-lost friends there and it just made me miss the fun that all of us used to have together 2 years back. From having dinners, to watching soccer, to playing the Wii, to working together for the Pre-Olympics, to... everything else. If I could turn back time, I would probably choose to live out this period again, with the same group of people no less. No complications, just pure fun.
Managed to finally have lunch with Kat & Lucas on Monday :) It felt so strange to just have lunch without having our Econs books propped open on the table or on our laps haha. But I certainly do miss our Econs Saturdays!! They weren't exactly productive all the time, but they were the closest I got to hanging out with friends pre-A's. Anyways we also caught When In Rome which wasn't too bad, plus the lead guy was pretty cute too :D Hung out at Starbucks after and it was sooo good to sit down (again) I felt like a lazy sloth for the next hour or so. Stupid inertia.
(Speaking of inertia, Yongsheng asked Cx, Chels & I the definition of it just the other day and none of us could even remember! But the guys still remembered the full exact definition of real GDP omg!)
Tuesday afternoon was polo finals :) :) The heat was insaneee but the girls' game was pretty exciting cause the scoreline was quite close throughout the first half. Anyway it was Raffles double champs again this year :) Funny how everything turned out exactly just like last year, but I'm not complaining! Met up with Ys, Cx & Chels for dinner after that (Serena was sick) and it was really really enjoyable. Walked about, had dessert, sat by the waters, had supper. Quite an awesome night with great company. I miss going to school :( :(
Lunched with Tk, Cx & Chermz on Wednesday :) It amazes me how we got so close and comfortable with each other even though we didn't meet that regularly in school. I suppose it's not always about seeing the group often, but rather, about making every moment together count. Anyway we went prawning after that and caught super lot of prawns :D Tk & Chermz had to go off slightly earlier so Cx & I cooked all the prawns by ourselves :( I just realized how tiring it is to continually fan the barbecue pit!! Was completely dyinggg. Plus I sustained multiple cuts from the pincers of the prawns! Not while cooking them, by the way. I swear some of them are just like miniature lobsters though!
Within the past month, life has taken about a thousand unexpected turns - some good, some bad. So many complicated relationships and I'm so confused as to who to trust, who not to trust, who I can rely on, who I can never rely on. Who I can believe in and who I want to believe in. At this point I am really so thankful to all the friends who've never failed to lend a listening ear & to advise me. On a side note, I think we've pretty much established that people who don't pay up their full amount at meals are freaking idiots and don't deserve to ever be invited again, especially when they've probably spent a bomb on hardcore clubbing.
