Hello worlddd I finally get to be home for an entire day (actually there's still training later) and there isn't anything urgent to get done so I'm gonna chill and bum around :) Feels sooo good!
Last Friday after running into Sal at NUS, we had lunch at Macs for FOUR hours omg. Actually it was probably lunch for half an hour, then just sitting around for the next 3.5 hours there. But I'm not complaining - this was exactly how I'd envisioned the year to be like, a lot of slacking, a lot of hang out sessions, and with no real purpose in life.
Then on Saturday, I had to get up super duper early for an Inter-Ministry swim meet. Never did I think I would ever have to take part in another swimming comp after last year's Nationals - I feel like laughing just thinking about it now. Funny how for some things, no matter how hard you try to free yourself from, it's still a near-impossible feat. What's worse is that it can come back in a different form to haunt you. Not saying that I very actively avoid all things related to swimming, though. Anyway the MOE people were really nice to me and thankfully I'd already known some others from the other ministries/stat boards so it was pretty fun :)
ORA also happened to be on that day, at RG. Did you know that? I couldn't make it but I don't think many of the Old Rafflesians went anyway. Picked up Cx & Lor and had supper with the class :) :) I think it's been our most successful gathering to date ever since the guys enlisted into the army! Gave some of them a lift back and I got into a stupid accident which was totally not my fault so I'm not gonna elaborate here. Anyway the other dude's lousy car got more badly damaged than mine and he's still gonna have to pay for my damages so all's cool :)
Had to get up early the following day for some test at NUS and the hall was freezing cold!! Didn't help that the invigilators took forever to collect the papers too. Oh and it was so embarrassing that I couldn't get the right seat until my third (or was it the fourth?) try. The losers Sal & Tabbi were very entertained as I moved from seat to seat. Anyways had lunch in town with Sal after that and we sat in the restaurant for 4.5 hours. Definitely a new record! At least the couches there were infinitely more comfortable than the seats at Macs haha. We also wanted to catch our first horror film in a cinema but apparently no one watches horror films in the day so the showtimes all sucked :( :(
On Monday after work, I had to go down to file for an insurance claim and to drop the car off for repair works. Such a long and tedious process, plus they'll take about a month to finalize the financial settlements and all. Inefficient to the max. Walked around the shops at Vivo for some time and spent a bit of money (actually it was quite a lot so I'm gonna have to start saving again sighhh) before heading home. Didn't go for training due to a myriad of reasons (fatigue, rain, etc.) so I managed to have a good rest :)
Tuesday was back to work, talked to my sis online (first time in about... a year) while waiting for the rest to finish their classes, lunched with the other J3s, discussed parenting methods. Finally falling back into such a routine now that there're fewer interviews going on and lunch appointments being made. Headed out for supper (well, sort of) at night and ended up talking for a really long time. Don't think what I've found out/learnt is gonna change anything, but it's definitely good to just know.
